It is the latest move by the large-scale retail trade giant that will create a large park with trees, flowering plants and shrubs of about 10,500 square meters at the center of which will be the center of services and activities with an integrated ecosystem for the well-being of people through the definition of a relationship of continuity between architecture and nature. Inside there will be a gym and sports fields, a kindergarten, a multipurpose space, a medical center and a historical archive. A large hub dedicated to employee welfare that recalls the great projects of the last century by Pirelli, Olivetti, Falck and Fiat whose project was entrusted to the Sanaa architecture studio of Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa: the choice reflects the importance that Esselunga reserves since its origins to style and architectural beauty, many in this sense are the shops that bear the signature of internationally renowned architects. The building project, divided into a ground floor and a basement, extends over an area of ​​9,600 square meters, and is made up of mainly glass walls.

The suggestive roof is characterized by sinuous shapes such as to create an alternation between inside and outside aimed at enhancing the surrounding greenery and natural light. The ground floor will host an open multifunctional space of over 700 square meters intended for conferences or exhibitions and which will also be equipped with a bar-cafeteria. Also on the ground floor there will be a large sports area of ​​over 800 square meters. The kindergarten will feature a large open space dedicated to play, with closed classrooms and spaces delimited by curved windows for various activities and will be able to accommodate up to 60 children in over 650 square meters. The large medical center of about 900 square meters will be divided into two large circular areas: the first will house the reception and a waiting room, while the second will house the doctors’ offices. The individual areas of the ground floor develop around a large central square, are independent so as to favor privacy, but at the same time joined by a single large roof. Adjacent to the building will be two padel courts, a soccer field and a tennis court. In the basement, in addition to service rooms and changing rooms, the company historical archive of 2,500 square meters will be located with a special consultation area.
