Abarth 131 Rally: forty years after the last race, the 695 pays homage to it

Whole generations have dreamed of seeing it speeding through the streets of the world. And now it’s time to pay tribute to her for 40 years since her last race: the Abarth 131 Rally.
On the fortieth anniversary of its last race, the Scorpio brand pays tribute to her by dedicating the special Abarth 695 Tributo 131 Rally series, which will be limited to 695 units and marketed globally.

From competitions to the street

The new top-of-the-range version is therefore a tribute to Abarth’s racing history. In fact, racing has always been part of its DNA and, thanks to technological “transfer”, the most innovative solutions tested on the track to increase performance and reliability are adopted on normal production cars, ensuring an adrenaline-fueled driving experience. This is why the new Abarth special series is an authentic concentrate of technology in the name of the brand’s founding values: Performance and Style.

180 hp and sports equipment

The Abarth 695 Tributo 131 Rally is equipped with the 1.4 T-jet engine that delivers 180 hp and a torque of 250 Nm at 3,000 rpm. The top speed is 225 km / h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h covered in just 6.7 seconds. It is also equipped with Koni Fsd shock absorbers on both axles and a specific braking system featuring Brembo 4-piston aluminum calipers at the front and 305 mm and 240 mm self-ventilated discs at the rear.
The equipment is completed by the 17-inch black alloy wheels with diamond finish and the Record Monza Sovrapposto system, the evolution of the iconic Record Monza exhaust with the four vertically superimposed tailpipes. Also standard is the Variable Trim Spoiler, adjustable in 12 positions from 0 to 60 ° which improves cornering stability and greater reactivity in mixed sections. For example, with an inclination of 60 ° and a speed of 200 km / h, the downforce increases to 42 kg.

Two-tone livery and tribute to the past

The Abarth 695 Tributo 131 Rally is characterized by a unique and refined style, with precise references to its historical forerunner, such as the new two-tone three-layer glossy “Blue Rally” livery, which reinterprets the original color in a contemporary key.
The Abarth 695 Tributo 131 Rally is the first Scorpion car to feature the “Easter Eggs”, small style “gems” that the designers hide to amaze customers, such as the silhouette of the 131 Rally engraved on the lower part of the door. , on the dashboard in Alcantara and on the headrests of the new seats.
Dedicated exclusively to the special series, the livery is embellished with a Scorpion Black roof and pillars. The same shade of blue is found on the mirror caps and on some interior details. The monochromatic “Blue Rally” and “Grigio Record” liveries are also available.
Inside, the sporty characterization is confirmed by the fabric seats, strictly Sabelt, with inserts and blue stitching inspired by those of the historic car, but revised in a modern perspective.

Abarth 131 Rally: a dream record

All this contributes to remembering the legendary history of the Abarth 131 Rally which debuted in 1976 in Group 4. Its palmarès is enviable, boasting the participation in six World Rally Championships (from 1976 to 1981) and the victory of 18 international Rally, three World Constructors ‘Championship titles (1977, 1978 and 1980) and two Drivers’ titles, namely a FIA Drivers Cup with Markku Alén and a World Drivers Champion with Walter Röhrl.
