According to the BIS, central banks are on the home stretch in the fight against inflation

In its report, the BIS pointed out that as inflation data fell, stock market participants’ expectations initially moved away from the monetary authorities’ projections because the market was betting on rapid interest rate cuts. But repeated intervention by central banks has managed to dispel excessive interest rate optimism on the stock market. “Their efforts to bring market expectations back in line with their forecasts were successful and narrowed the gap between stock market expectations and those of central banks,” the quarterly report said.
