Alessandro Spada was designated as the sole candidate for the presidency of Assolombarda for the four-year period 2021-2025 by the association’s General Council, which met yesterday, with 86.54% of the votes in favor and a participation rate of 91, 44% of those entitled. The designation was the result of a process of consultations that saw a number of companies expressing their opinions compared to the past. Spada was the only one admitted to the vote having the consent of many associates equal to 19.54% of the contribution weight and therefore exceeding the 15% threshold, provided for by the statute of Assolombarda. In the consultations Alessandro Enginoli instead reached 6.14%, not enough to submit his candidacy to the vote of the General Council. Compared to the number of consulted companies belonging to the General Council, 75.41% expressed themselves in favor of Alessandro Spada and 18.85% in favor of Alessandro Enginoli. The General Council will meet again on April 20 to designate the elected Vice-Presidents of the Presidency team. The candidacy of Alessandro Spada and his team will be submitted by election to the assembly of entrepreneurs in the area of Milan, Monza and Brianza, Lodi and Pavia which will be convened for May 17.
Spada, born in Monza on August 31, 1965, is an entrepreneur in the manufacturing sector. Since May 2020, he has been President of Assolombarda, the largest territorial association of the Confindustria system, which represents almost 7 thousand companies and over 414 thousand workers in the areas of Milan, Monza and Brianza, Lodi and Pavia. He is Corporate Advisor to Chart Industries, Inc., a leader in highly engineered equipment serving multiple applications in the energy and industrial gas markets. He is a member of the Board of Directors and Vice President of VRV, a group specializing in the design and construction of pressure vessels for the chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries. His participation in the associative life was long, holding various institutional positions in Assolombarda since 2005. He was a member of the central council of the Confindustria Youth Group and a member of the Federchimica Board. He currently sits on the general council of Confindustria and on the presidential council of Confindustria Lombardia. It is part of the Confindustria Technical Tax Group.
