Alfa Romeo presented the new Giulia GTA at the Balocco Experimental Center, Vercelli. Here the legendary progenitor was developed by Autodelta: the 1965 Giulia GTA, the “Gran Turismo Alleggerita” that collected sporting successes all over the world. Inspired by one of the most successful models in Alfa Romeo’s 111-year history, the new Giulia GTA represents the ultimate expression in terms of style, mechanics and driving pleasure. Giulia GTA is equipped with the Alfa Romeo 2.9 V6 Bi-Turbo engine boosted to 540 HP, whose specific power of 187 HP / liter is best in class. Thanks to the extensive adoption of ultralight materials, it benefits from a weight reduction of up to 100 kg compared to the Giulia Quadrifoglio and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.6 seconds. In addition, specific technical solutions have also been developed for aerodynamics, chassis and handling. The project made use of the skills of Sauber Engineering and the drivers of the Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN Formula 1 team Antonio Giovinazzi and Kimi Råikk ÷ nen. Among the novelties, the new 20-inch rims with single-nut fixing, for the first time on a sedan, and the new Akrapovic titanium central exhaust system, with an unmistakable sound. There are several customization possibilities within an offer that recalls the spirit of the 1965 Giulia GTA: from the liveries designed by the Alfa Romeo Style Center designers to the colors of numerous details, such as brake calipers and, in the interiors, roll bars, belts and seams. Choosing Giulia GTA therefore opens the doors of a dedicated customer experience, a project that searches for the niches of collecting as well as the rope points on the track: 500 numbered units dedicated to the EMEA market.
