And now what should you do to watch football on TV? This is the main question that is currently in the minds of Italian football fans. And it is understandable: from next season the reference point for Serie A will change. It will no longer be Sky, ma Dazn which has won the entire top flight and promises to start Italy football on the road to football in streaming by sending satellite dishes and digital terrestrial channels to the attic.
In this context it may be useful to make the expected picture of the situation after the summer.

The four musketeers of football pay
Certainly from next season the actors on the field will multiply. If we talk about football pay Sky and Dazn will join Mediaset and Amazon. Here they are, then, the names of the four football musketeers on video (talking only about TV is an understatement and would mean not considering all the other screens). There are two consequences, depending on your point of view. Consumers will miss the pivot (as currently Sky), the point of reference, which could destabilize. On the other hand, there will be more possibilities of choice, combined with another fixed point: a single subscription will no longer be enough.
Serie A for the three-year period 2021-24
Let’s start from A league. The Lega assembly on Friday 26 March 2021 decided the historic turning point, with the endorsement of 16 presidents in favor and only 4 against (Sassuolo, Sampdoria, Genoa and Crotone). Dazn’s offer was accepted: 840 million per season for all matches. There is talk of 7 exclusive matches a week and 3 co-exclusive through Iptv (the channel used by Dazn, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Now Tv, Infinity and so on). These last matches are, by announcement, the 20.45 match on Saturday; the 12.30 race on Sunday and the 20.45 race on Monday. The offer is in partnership with Tim who, as reconstructions have already emerged a few weeks ago, will put 340 million on the operation a year. “The new partnership will be active starting from July 2021 and dedicated offers will be reserved for Tim customers for the Dazn service, which includes Serie A matches, for a user base of about 5 million families, up to now mainly via satellite” reads the joint press release issued after the Lega assembly.
Prices and commercial offers will be known later. It is unlikely that there is not an upward adjustment compared to the current monthly cost of the subscription to Dazn 9.99 euros.
