Standard & Poor’s confirmed Amco’s investment grade rating, with the long-term issuer credit rating at ‘BBB’. In addition, S&P improved its outlook to positive from stable, in line with that of the Italian government. The rating agency continues to attribute a crucial role to Amco in derisking banks’ balance sheets. In addition, Amco preserves financial stability, encourages credit and promotes economic growth. S&P considers Amco to be an entity linked to the Italian government with an almost certain probability of financial support from the latter, thus maintaining the alignment between Amco’s Long-Term rating and the Long-Term rating attributed to Italy.
On 22 October, the US rating agency changed the outlook of the ‘BBB / A-2’ Long-Term and Short-Term rating of Italy’s sovereign debt from stable to positive.
