These are the numbers: 955 hectares of cultivated Lucanian areas (198 in 2009 when Arpor acquired the plant); over 21,200 tons of frozen vegetables (8,700); 42.3 million in turnover (13 million); 328 work units, with a peak of 491 workers between March-May. The entire production, sold by Orogel, is from the Lucanian factory. Huge investments: 42.3 million spent (2009-2020), another 25 million to spend (2021-2023) in a 4.0 key. Two grilling ovens for ready-made aubergines, courgettes and peppers have been installed, the packaging department is being completed with the new lines and a new fully automated low-temperature storage cell is planned.

“The project for the enhancement of the Velusur Lucan frozen vegetables supply chain makes it possible to plan production based on market requests”, underlines Nicola Vallinoto, agronomist of Agrifood Design, who designed and coordinates the project (lead company Arpor), financed for 8 million from the Basilicata Region with the 2014/2020 RDP.
