A long fraud
The fraud, the investigators established, lasted over 20 years and, among the false claims, there are six in which the damaged or responsible party driving their Porsche 911 is even a ninety-year-old lady (Tacchella’s aunt), who died in 2017.
The investigation, which the Public Prosecutor continued with the support of the Foce Sturla police station and the economic and financial police unit of the Guardia di Finanza, made it possible to proceed with the preventive seizure of over 6.5 million between funds, securities and current account deposits, largely attributable to insurance fraud and tax evasion.
In recent days there have been 20 indictments, 20 dismissals and 17 plea agreements, including that of Tacchella. These, clarifies the Prosecutor’s Office, has manifested repentance “By deciding to pay off his debt to justice for the illegal activity carried out over the course of over twenty years to the last cent”.
Plea bargaining and donation
In addition to “giving consent for an extended plea bargain, agreeing on the significant penalty of four years and eight months of imprisonment and a 23 thousand euro fine”, Tacchella, again explain by the Prosecutor, “has consented to the liquidation of part of the seized assets, through the judicial administrator appointed by the investigating judge, for a total of 4.3 million euros “. In addition, Tacchella received the payment, by way of charity, of 850 thousand euros, of which 750mil, as mentioned, at Gaslini and of 100 thousand at San Marcellino.
