Auto incentives at the start, risk of longer delivery times. Codacons: limited funds will trigger the click day

Incentives for cars are underway, with bonuses ranging from a minimum of 2,000 euros for vehicles with traditional low-impact engines up to 5,000 euros for 100% electric cars. A measure that, according to Codacons, risks turning me into the usual Italian-style “mess” and creating new inconveniences for users.

The procedure for accessing the new incentives could lead to a real “click day”, especially for the most popular cars on the market such as those that fall within the 61-135 g / km of CO2 range, according to Codacons. “The risk is that only the fastest will benefit from the bonus, considering that the incentives are valid until the available funds are exhausted, with the consequence that not everyone will be able to access the contributions since the dealerships will accumulate orders”, highlights the consumer association.

There is also no ISEE limit to enjoy the incentive: this means that even the wealthiest citizens will be able to access public funds to change their car, perhaps to the detriment of poorer families who would need the subsidy.

Furthermore, according to Codacons, the increase in car bookings will lead to a lengthening of the delivery times of the cars: already today, due to the crisis of raw materials and the scarcity of some components, citizens have to wait months before receiving the ‘purchased car. Waiting times that will inevitably lengthen due to the increase in bookings.

Finally, for electric or hybrid cars, there is the problem of recharging columns: the incentives launched by the Government will lead to an increase in electric cars in circulation in our area, but in some areas of the country the columns destined to recharge this type of motor vehicle, with inevitable inconvenience for those who opt for fully electric or hybrid cars.
