Axpo accelerates on renewables: available for all households by 2025

by admin

The goal is certainly ambitious. Axpo Italia, presenting its sustainability profile, has announced its commitment to provide all households with 100% energy from renewable sources by 2025, with significant savings in terms of CO2 released into the atmosphere by 2025. A path in which the offer for companies is also placed, with the objective of developing Power Purchase Agreements with an expected volume for 2025 equal to 16 million MWh from renewable sources. The slogan used by the company, headquartered in Genoa, fourth in Italy in the free energy market, is after all a real manifesto: Axpo 3P, Planet, People, Prosperity. A program which also includes the path towards digitization that brings investments to 60%, and the attention to personnel who, by 2025, will achieve equality between men and women.

«Our social report is based on sustainability – explains Salvatore Pinto, president of Axpo Italia – both in terms of business and on the people within our company. The ways of developing our technologies are oriented to take into account both the sustainability of raw materials and the social one, with the aim of creating employment and well-being for all ».

Axpo wants to be at the forefront of the energy turnaround. “Less than 30 years remain to implement a systemic change of proportions never seen before and create a world with zero impact – said Simone Demarchi, CEO of Axpo Italia – Since 73% of global carbon emissions come from use of energy, rethinking the way we manage it can only be at the center of this epochal change. For any company, profitability remains central to the launch of any virtuous path towards sustainability: the announced investments, the commitment to digital as a key to making a concrete contribution to the environment, the choice to offer domestic users, through Pulsee , only energy from renewable sources “.

The project also involves the Ligurian capital with initiatives aimed at encouraging electric mobility and with the “Lighting Project”, ie with the installation, by autumn 2022, of high-tech lighting materials in the Piccapietra area, in the Genoese city. . «The real challenge today is that of energy management – underlined the mayor of Genoa, Marco Bucci – and digitization is fundamental. Just as decarbonisation is important, which will gradually be achieved, but we have a duty to start for the next generations. In Genoa we have important programs: from the total electrification of local public transport, to the green port. Goals that will allow us to arrive at the final result, which is the completely decarbonised city by 2030 ».

On the environment, as well as in the drive towards renewables and the proposal of Power Purchase Agreements, Axpo Italia is in the front row with Arbolia for the “Axpo” Bosco Project, thanks to which it collaborates in the national campaign that provides for the planting of over 3 million of trees in Italy by 2030, the centrality of which was reaffirmed by the company’s CEO, Salvatore Ricco.
