A rising start for the European stock exchanges which, after the rises of the eve and of Wall Street, are trying to close the week in the name of earnings. The positive data on the weekly requests for unemployment benefits and the rise in the tech sector on the US price lists – after three sessions in the red – have calmed the climate among investors on the economic recovery, also giving breath to the Asian stock exchanges.

At the end of the trade, the Nikkei Leadership Index gained 0.78% to close at 28,317 points and the broader Topix index was up 0.32% to 1,902.02 points.
