Banca Carige announced that the Court of Genoa has rejected with a sentence all the requests made by the plaintiffs in the context of the case concerning the challenge of the shareholders’ meeting resolution for the capital increase of 20/9/2019.
The lawsuit brought by Malacalza Investimenti, joined to the appeals of the same resolution brought by other small shareholders of the Bank as well as by the common representative of the savings shareholders, resulted in the total rejection of the huge claims for compensation and sentencing of the plaintiffs to pay court costs.
Thus, the validity and full legitimacy of the capital increase resolution and the work of the Bank’s bodies were ascertained. The ruling of the Court constitutes an important element of clarity in view of the forthcoming strategic and management commitments that await the Group.
