Bank of Italy has revised upwards the estimates on the growth of the gross domestic product of Italy. For 2021 it now expects growth of nearly 5%, equal to at least + 4.9%. For 2022 the forecast is for an expansion equal to + 4.5% and for 2023 it estimates a moderate increase at the rate of + 2.3%. This is what emerges from the economic projections on Italy in the context of the contribution of the institution of Via Nazionale to the last coordinated financial year of the Eurosystem.
Thus the note: “Compared to our previous projections, published in the January Economic Bulletin, the estimates of
growth are higher both in 2021 and in 2022. The upward revision mainly reflects the stimulus effects deriving from the additional support measures introduced by the Government in recent months and from the most updated information on the use of European funds, contained in the PNRR recently sent to the European Commission “.
