“The digitalization of finance represents only a part, albeit an important one, of the more general digital transition process of our society. This constitutes a lever of growth which is now essential to support the recovery of the economies, so severely hit by the pandemic crisis ”. This was stated by Ignazio Visco, governor of the Bank of Italy, during his speech at the Webinar on “The digital transition in credit”. The Governor warns, however, that “the benefits will be disseminated only if we know how to manage the risks” and that for the regulatory and supervisory authorities this is an unavoidable challenge. “Those who operate on the market must contribute to it, cooperating for the success of a transition from which everyone can benefit and to build a more equitable and sustainable future”, adds Visco.
