Over the last year, bank loans to businesses have grown by just € 20 billion. The stock of loans of institutions destined for companies went from 650.6 billion in March 2020 to 621.2 billion in March 2021. “It is therefore probable that the more than 180 billion granted by the same banks to companies, covered by the public guarantee have replaced old loans or credit already in place “, points out the report produced by the Unimpresa Study Center, according to which, the risks of banks in terms of loans to businesses and households are reduced: the total of impaired loans has dropped, in the last year, from 70.9 billion to 51.9 billion with a reduction of over 19 billion (-26.82%). “Liquidity is the main problem for Italian small and medium-sized enterprises and banks, as usual, with shrewdness and lack of foresight, turn off the taps. They used the state’s parachute to reduce their risks and not to support the real economy. The rumors are zero, the numbers speak for us and the numbers tell us that in the face of over 180 billion loans guaranteed by the state granted during the pandemic, the total amount of loans has risen by just 20 billion. It means, calculator in hand, that around 120 billion is not additional liquidity, but replacement ”, comments the vice president of Unimpresa, Giuseppe Spadafora.
