Bmw Group Training Center, how training changes

by admin

Learn how to perform maintenance on an electric car or use a “video game” to improve your skills in the workshop. These and other activities are at the heart of the BMW Training Center in San Donato Milanese, inaugurated in 2006 and constantly evolving with a view to a new strategy of attention for the customer, intended both as a final consumer and as a collaborator of the group. Taking care of the dealerships, through a process of personalized training in terms of content and methods, allows you to involve the end customer with a view to constant development.

Online lessons and gamification

The digital evolution process – started a few years ago and which has allowed the Munich brand to guarantee effective training in Italy even in the recent pandemic and post-pandemic period – is one of the tools of the new strategy. It is not just a question of reconciling classroom learning with online modules, but of building an environment of physical and digital interaction, through the use of different resources that favor learning and exchange: courses, workshops, but also webinars, virtual classroom, microlearning, extended reality and gamification. In the pre-pandemic period, the percentage of online courses on the total was 30%, in 2020 and 2021 about 80%, but for the future, training is expected to be 50% online and 50% face-to-face.

Focus on electrification

The official network of the BMW Group is made up of 4200 collaborators who need a training process. Within the group of collaborators, 22 different professional figures were identified – 12 from the sales area and 10 from the after sales area (assistance and acceptance) – for which 22 different training courses were implemented, which are completed with a certification. To date, for example, more than 400 High Voltage technicians have already been trained to work on the batteries of electrified vehicles. The BMW Group Training Center is structured to provide twenty thousand man training days per year.
