Aesthetically, we find all the details already appreciated on the new M4 coupé Competition, starting from the maxi double kidney to the generous carbon fiber extractor at the rear. The main novelty obviously comes from the hood, made of fabric and 40% lighter than in the past. The new M4 convertible goes into “wind in your hair” mode in just 18 seconds, an operation that can also be performed on the go. The load compartment has grown by 80 liters compared to the previous series, starting from 300 liters with the top down and expandable up to 386 liters.

Taking up what was already appreciated on the coupé, the new seats with optional carbon fiber shells stand out, 10.2 kg lighter than the standard ones and designed to better hold the body when driving to the limit. The M4 Competition Convertible adopts the inline six-cylinder with M TwinPower Turbo technology with two 510hp turbochargers (maximum power has increased by 60hp compared to the previous model) and 650Nm of torque, optimized direct injection technology and components developed on the basis of experience in racing. Available in the M xDrive all-wheel drive version, the open-top sports car allows you to sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.7 seconds and has combined cycle consumption of 10.2 l / 100 km and carbon dioxide emissions equal to 233 g / km. As for the top speed, it is self-limited to 250 km / h but by purchasing a specific package it can be raised to 280 km / h. Power is discharged to the wheels via an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic and features three shift programs and steering wheel levers. As for traction, the configuration menu allows you to choose between 4wd, 4Wd Sport and 2wd, the latter capable of transforming the car into a rear-wheel drive convertible with Dsc disabled. As on the coupé, there is ten-level adjustable traction control, variable-ratio steering and two-level brake pedal sensitivity adjustment. The optional M Race Track package reduces vehicle weight by approximately 25 kilograms with features such as M Carbon ceramic brakes, bespoke M light alloy wheels and M Carbon bucket seats.
