BMW Motorrad expands equipment range for the R 18 and R 18 Classic

by admin

The current range of Original BMW Motorrad accessories and options already offers a large number of solutions to customize the R 18 and R 18 Classic according to your preferences. With the introduction of Option 719, BMW Motorrad is now adding features that allow for top-notch customization based on historical roots. After all, the BMW Motorrad internal code “719” was already synonymous decades ago with particularly high-quality and exclusive special equipment, special and unusual requests and unique pieces. Option 719 Design Package AERO includes cylinder head covers on left and right, front cover and intake snorkel cover on left and right. All parts are made of aluminum sheet with a satin and colorless anodized surface. The cylinder head covers feature finely crafted air intakes reminiscent of the “streamliners” of the 1920s and 1930s. The highlight is a badge on the front and side covers, made of solid copper, chromed and partially finished in white. . The white paint, which encloses the numerical sequence “719”, is reminiscent of historical emblems that were typically coated with enamel at that time. For the new R 18 and R 18 Classic, the Option 719 seat is a particularly exclusive alternative to the standard seat. In addition to the standard seat height, it offers integrated heating and a fascinating selection of materials and finishes. For example, two additional black materials are used, which are combined with a diamond-shaped embossed quilting. An embroidered BMW logo and the 719 symbol on the side complete this exclusive seat. The Galaxy Dust metallic color is an iridescent finish that shines through a shade ranging from purple to turquoise blue, depending on the light. In addition, the many pigments create a unique visual effect when exposed to sunlight. This special finish is combined with the mirror finish Titanium Silver 2 metallic on the fuel tank. The transition between the two colored surfaces is the result of a hand applied smoke effect, reminiscent of the legendary R 90 S. Furthermore, the mirror surface is surrounded by a classic double white line. The two Option 719 wheelsets, AERO and ICON, respectively in the basic colors matt silver and matt black, offer a particularly refined and technically sophisticated look. The cast alloy wheels have a six-spoke design. The filigree streaks of the wheels are a real spectacle. The machined areas give the aluminum a fascinating contrast to the paint color of the wheels – hence the name Contrast Cut. BMW Motorrad entered the cruiser segment with the market launch of the R 18 in September 2020, followed in February 2021 by the R 18 Classic, the second member of the new model series. The R 18 Classic embodies the nostalgic tourer, echoing the beginnings of large touring cruisers. Compared to the pure R 18, the R 18 Classic is characterized above all by the large windshield, the passenger seat, the bags, the LED auxiliary lights and the 16-inch front wheel. Both R 18 models are rooted in the tradition of historic BMW motorcycles. Both technically and visually, they are inspired by renowned models such as the BMW R 5 and again focus on the essentials of the motorcycle: purist and linear technology and the boxer engine as the epicenter of driving pleasure, combined with “good vibrations”. The very successful market launch of the BMW R 18 and R 18 Classic took place with the First Edition models. Production of these exclusive, limited edition models will cease already at the end of July 2021, after more than 13,000 units have been produced to date. (ITALPRESS). tvi / red 11-May-21 17:24
