BoE, mortgages: installment increase risk of over 2 million

In the Financial Stability Report, the BoE said more than 2 million mortgage holders will see monthly payments rise to between £200 and £499 (from $259 to $645) by the end of 2026.

For nearly 1 million people, however, monthly mortgage costs are expected to rise by more than £500 over the same period. The bank said, however, that the amount of household debt remains “well below” the historical peak reached in 2007.
