Borsa Italiana flat: it is not enough to rally banks of the Ftse Mib, Telecom and Tenaris in trouble

by admin

Piazza Affari did not move today, while the Frankfurt Dax (closed yesterday for holidays) updated the historical highs under the pressure of the inflation assurances coming from some members of the Fed and also from the M&A operation in real estate with the largest European residential real estate group Vonovia SE which has agreed to take over its rival Deutsche Wohnen for around 18 billion euros.

Piazza Affari in closing saw the Ftse Mib at 24,892 (+ 0.006%), once again failing to close beyond the 25,000 point barrier (level reached in intraday). Banking stocks are also dusting today with Bper rising by 2.2% to € 2.126, new annual highs. Almost + 1% for Unicredit, while Intesa marks -0.08%. Banco BPM very well (+ 1.33% to 2.817 euros) whose board today should ratify the sale of 1.5 billion euros of NPLs as part of the `Rockets` project, announced to the market on the occasion of the quarterly results. The transaction, which provides for the transfer of the portfolio to an SPV and the use of the GACS on the senior tranches issued, was expected to close by the end of the second quarter of this year. The sale allows for a further improvement in the bank’s risk profile, with the NPE ratio falling from 7.5% to 6.3%.

Among the minus signs we point out Poste which leaves 1.32% on the ground after the good performance at the beginning of the eighth. Today the postal group announced the launch of the fixed telephony offer, with PosteCasa Ultraveloce which allows to reach a connection speed of one gigabit per second and includes a second connection without limits on the 4G network. To weigh on the title, however, is the rejection by Deutsche Bank which cut the rating on the stock from buy to hold in the wake of the 35% rally marked by the title since the beginning of the year. However, the target price rises from 10 to 11.9 euros.

Among the other stocks we note the almost -2% of Tenaris, worst performer of the day. Leonardo was also bad (-1.3%) who announced an agreement with Ericsson to develop 5G solutions for industry and public safety.

Finally, TelecomItalia sells 1.49% to € 0.435. Wind3 would have submitted a report to Agcom to verify that the agreements between TIM and DAZN are not detrimental to competition. The concern that emerges from TIM’s competitors indicates the importance that this offer can have for market shares in the new activations of UBB connections. According to Equita, this will also depend on some still unknown elements: the price of the package and the existence of a price advantage between TIM’s integrated offer and the one that can be activated directly on DAZN.
