Brass made in 3D lands in Brescia

“How many others? We have many open negotiations, in 2022 we plan to sell five to seven. And look, it’s a conservative estimate ».

For Ilario Corsini and his 3D4MEC, 2022 can in fact be the year of the turning point. Thanks to the purchase made by Rubinetterie Bresciane, the Emilian company is in fact able to enter a hitherto unexplored market, the additive manufacturing dedicated to brass.

«We are the first in the world to have created a 3D printer able to better manage zinc – explains the CEO – which represents the main obstacle in the realization of these alloy products using additive methods. But this is only the first step, because we have many other open negotiations ».

The Emilian company, part of a group of 25 employees and specialized in the production of 3D printers for metals, actually enters a potentially rich market, the valve and tap sector in which Italy boasts a world leadership and dozens of companies healthy and internationalized. Interesting business, taking into account that each of these hi-tech objects requires an investment in the order of half a million euros. Investment that aims to change the rules of the game in terms of timing, precision and flexibility.

“This printer – explains Mario Bonomi, entrepreneur and plant manager for Rubinetterie Bresciane and Fra.Bo – will allow us to significantly shorten the time-to-market of new product series, which will be tested well in advance of the actual start of the massive production. Furthermore, it will allow us to provide our customers or potential customers with functioning prototypes that are perfectly faithful to reality with a competitive advantage over the competition that does not yet have this technology ».
