Business and enterprises: can territories produce value again? Yes, with digitization: this is how Italy is placed

The first business talk on the new Made in Italy is born. In the Marche region, economics scholars, journalists and intellectuals will animate “In Prima Fila”, the first business event created to tell companies how territories can return to create value in a changing world. Among the guests, professor Carlo Cottarelli.
Whoever crosses the seas changes the skies he meets but leaves his soul intact. For decades, the most famous traditional Italian industrial sectors, from clothing to food, from furniture to cars, have been symbols of elegance and quality. Over time, they have imposed, in the world, a protean cultural paradigm expressed by the peculiar interpretation that the local economies of distinct and industrious territories have been able to give to the joy of living, to the lifestyle, to the beauty of which the peninsula is a timeless ambassador . But what are the tools to “navigate” the spirit of this entrepreneurial culture and of the lands where it was born beyond the current phase of the global economy? It is a question that will find concrete answers in “In Prima Fila”, the first national Business Talk on the New Made in Italy able to annually measure the ability of the territories to create value and to be protagonists of the world market.
The event conceived and organized in the Marche region by TAI- Think About It, one of the most dynamic and successful European companies in planning business internationalization paths, will take place on June 17th, starting at 4 pm, at the Garofoli Meeting Room in Castelfidardo. There will also be Carlo Cottarelli, former director of the IMF’s Tax Affairs Department and government commissioner for the review of public spending. With him the editorialist, essayist and economic journalist Davide Giacalone (Director of La Ragione), the journalist, radio and television host Fulvio Giuliani, the journalist, analyst and writer Andrea Pamparana (former Deputy Director of TG5). In the dense book of questions and ideas of the moderator Loris Comisso, the analyzes of economists, sociologists, financial analysts and editorialists of national and international importance will alternate, for the first time gathered in order to investigate and reveal the main guidelines of a true economic transition , ecological and digital of the Italian economic-social model, of the splendid regional varieties that characterize it and of their effective ability to create a system. The result will be data, case histories, proposals, concrete answers and food for thought on how to best face the changes underway. It will be the first Italian business talk based on the concreteness of solutions and aimed at suggesting – to economic and institutional operators – solid and lasting tools capable of strengthening the production and commercial structure of the territories by building indispensable extra-national bridges and favoring a more secure evolutionary turn towards the future. In the first part, entitled “Lands beyond the borders. The future of a new Made in Italy “will indicate a direction for an innovative and successful development of the Italian companies, with an ad hoc focus on the creation of effective storydoing of the territory, on supply chain agreements, on the enhancement of intellectual capital, technological innovation and eco-sustainability. The second part will focus on “The Marche case” an economy in the plural with a stratified identity that aims to rethink itself as a brand and business model capable of telling and imposing itself.

The importance of digitization
And then the development of digitalization has a fair weight, in Italy a sector in distress but fundamental for the economic revitalization of companies. In the Italian panorama, the best performance, that of Lombardy, of the eleven regions with a score above the Italian average, eight are from the north (Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Friuli Venezia-Giulia, Veneto, Liguria, Piedmont, and the autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano ) and three in the center (Lazio, Tuscany, and Umbria). Below the average we find, in particular the last ones (below 45 points) are all regions of the South. A gap therefore emerges between north and south.
The expert and the conference
Insisting on the modernization of the productive fabric is Filippo Barbetta, expert in internationalization and promoter with TAI Think About. «The impact of the pandemic says Barbetta – has led to a strong contraction of entrepreneurial activities, penalizing many sectors. In particular, by slowing down growth, micro and small enterprises have had to intervene in their organizations to maintain an economic equilibrium suitable for the period. Without considering those who unfortunately did not make it ». The tools to return to growth refer primarily to digital transformation. During the pandemic, many SMEs had to use them compulsorily, with video calls, document repositories in cloud mode and sharing via the web. This fact confirmed that the technologies make it possible to reorganize and optimize work activities both locally and internationally, with absolutely guaranteed performance in the management and security of the data. It is therefore necessary for companies to further increase the technological tools by integrating them with current organizations. «The indicators confirm that the growth trends are encouraging and if accompanied by the right technological tools they make intra- and inter-company activities more efficient, making the supply chain mechanism fluid. The actions of SMEs must also aim to constantly support innovation and research and development. This would particularly increase investment in young people by revitalizing the heart of new business organizations to make them compete in international markets ».
