Buzzi grows in 2023, turnover +8%

For the Buzzi Group, 2023 proved to be a year of significant economic growth, according to preliminary results. The company has in fact announced a qualitative leap in its consolidated turnover, which stands at 4,317 million euros, witnessing an increase of 8.1% compared to the 3,996 million euros of 2022. Even more impressive is the leap of 11, 1% recorded net of exchange rate variations and structural changes.

Expectations for the end of the financial year are equally positive, with a recurring Ebitda expected to be around 1,240 million euros, a figure that exceeds initial forecasts despite the challenges posed by currency fluctuations. The financial solidity of the Buzzi Group is also confirmed through its net financial position, which at the end of the year showed a positive balance of 798 million euros, marking an impressive increase of 176.9% compared to the 288.2 million euros of 2022 and to 673.0 million euros at the end of September.

Cement sales in fact recorded a decrease of 7%, stopping at 26.3 million euros, while ready-mix concrete saw a contraction of 12.7% with 10 million cubic meters sold. This drop in volumes mainly affected the markets of Central Europe, Poland and the Czech Republic, unlike what happened in Italy and the United States, where greater stability was observed.

“2023 ended in a manner consistent with what was observed in the first nine months of the year,” the company commented. “This highlights weak demand in most of our reference markets, but at the same time a strengthening of prices which, at a consolidated level, has largely offset the effect of the reduction in volumes.”
