The cloud offers companies and public administrations, of any size, the possibility of using the best IT solutions on the market ‘on consumption’. Entire industrial sectors, such as gaming, were born and raised in this way: think, for example, of the TV that took 50 years to reach 50 million users while today streaming games in just 50 days achieve the same result. Noovle has the dual objective of assisting the customer in the migration to the cloud and in the management of its activities to encourage the adoption of the most advanced innovative tools, such as Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things. Digitization is a great accelerator for economic growth and for maintaining jobs and the competitiveness of our economic system. With the arrival of the ‘Recovery funds’, the Government will give the economy the right push to exploit the potential of digital for the benefit of the whole country, a great opportunity for companies and public administration. The cloud is one of the pillars – together with connectivity and education – of the digital revolution we are experiencing. Furthermore, digitization and the ‘green’ revolution are the elements also included in the NRP, which can ensure a sustainable future for the country’s economy. This is why we have built the company with particular attention to economic and social sustainability: sovereignty and data protection, security, public or hybrid multi-cloud model to be built according to customer needs to ensure the benefits of economy, flexibility and collaboration typical of the cloud.
What is the timing of the partnership with Google Cloud to create the Region clouds in Piedmont and Lombardy?
We expect Google to open its rooms in our data centers in Milan by the end of this year, in Turin next year. Obviously these new centers, which will be at the forefront both in terms of security and sustainability, will remain available to customers who want to rely on our infrastructure, whether they are ‘cloud professionals’ or ‘data-consuming’ companies. We are convinced that these infrastructures will significantly contribute to the digitization of the country. We are very proud of all this, it is the first time that a company like Noovle has been born in Italy, in terms of size, ambition and investments.
What kind of induced will be generated?
Each center employs between 30 and 50 people: the six centers, therefore, should generate up to 300 jobs to which the related numbers will naturally be added. Every company that adopts our data centers will create new jobs in turn. According to the estimates of Gartner analysts, after two or three years each job created generates an induced amount of up to 100-150 new jobs. It is therefore possible to imagine an overall induced activity of about 30-50 thousand people. Data centers are therefore huge accelerators for the economy, but they must be used in a rational way: for this reason, like Noovle, we will focus both on the creation of infrastructures and on the development of digital skills. With Intesa Sanpaolo and Google Cloud, for example, we intend to create a pole in Turin for the adoption of new cloud and Artificial Intelligence technologies at the service of the territory to develop new projects together with local excellence aimed at guaranteeing a sustainable future. We have commissioned a first study from the University of Turin that will help us to listen and understand the specific needs and opportunities that cloud and AI technologies can bring to the territory.
