Although it inherits the dynasty name “Yuan”, which is characterized by fast horses and galloping horses, Yuan PLUS must not be simply regarded as the successor of Yuan PRO – except that it is the first model of the dynasty series born on the BYD e-platform 3.0, Yuan PLUS It is also equipped with the DiLink 4.0 (4G) intelligent network connection system, which is quite electric and intelligent, and its internal and external changes are exciting enough.
In terms of appearance, the EV Dragon Face 3.0 design language is very naturally integrated into the BYD Yuan PLUS. The body is small but the overall lines are simple and smooth. The iconic silver chrome trim on the front face and the “Yuan” logo in the small seal script further strengthen the family style.
The new car has five colors: surfing blue, skiing white, rock climbing gray, adventure green and parkour red. The naming of the colors directly highlights the positioning of young sports.
On the side of the car body, the Yuan PLUS without the small schoolbag adopts a more sporty design. The inclined A-pillar and the depressed roof make the side proportions more harmonious, and the visual center is also much lower. , fender trim strips and the smooth waistline of the taillights greatly enhance the vehicle’s sense of movement. The chrome-plated “dragon scale” decorative panel on the C-pillar also declares that even a car with a positioning of 100,000 class will not ignore the sense of refinement.
Coming to the rear of the car, it is also a strong family design style, with simple lines and a strong overall sense. The new car adopts a through-type taillight group, and the interior is supplemented by a feather-shaped lamp cavity design. The logo and model name are listed on the left and right sides. Similar designs can be seen on many other Dynasty models, but the lines are slightly different.
In terms of size, Yuan PLUS has a length, width and height of 4455/1875/1615mm and a wheelbase of 2720mm. The structural advantages of electric vehicles are highlighted again, the body is small but the wheelbase is uncompromising, and the interior space is freer. BYD interior design director Michele Paganetti mentioned at the press conference that the two key words of Yuan PLUS interior are “mechanical” and “muscle”, and the most direct expression is the “gym” style. In the new car, you can see the left and right trim panels on the center console that are similar to muscle fibers, the dumbbell-shaped air-conditioning outlet, the thrust-type electronic gear lever, and the center armrest that looks like a treadmill. ——You can complain, but BYD has really made this interior. In just three years, BYD’s DiLink intelligent network connection system has moved from 1.0 to 4.0, and the large rotatable screen has almost become BYD’s signature and even a family heirloom. That’s how fast technology develops, and the traditional auto industry is changing with it. At the same time, APA automatic parking, 360° panoramic transparent image system, full scene digital key and other functions are also on board.
In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with BYD’s eight-in-one electric powertrain. The maximum power of the permanent magnet synchronous motor is 204 horsepower, the peak torque may exceed 330N m, and the zero-to-hundred acceleration time is 7.3 seconds. The battery will be equipped with a lithium iron phosphate blade battery. The CLTC version with a capacity of 50.12kWh has a cruising range of 430 kilometers, and the 60.48kWh version has a cruising range of 510 kilometers.
There is another detail in this online conference. All the people who appeared were wearing sportswear from another domestic brand Anta. And this just echoes another message at the end of the conference – Yuan PLUS will be BYD’s first “strategic overseas” global passenger car.
