© Reuters. Canadian stocks end lower; Canada’s Toronto S&P/TSX composite index is down 0.98% by the end of the day
Investing.com – Canada equities were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , , and the sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Toronto, Canada, it fell 0.98% to a one-year low.
The best performers of the session were Aurora Cannabis Inc (TSX: ), which rose 6.96% or 0.11 points to trade at 1.69 at the close. Meanwhile, Nutrien Ltd (TSX: ) was up 4.04% or 4.39 points to end at 113.00 and LifeWorks Inc (TSX: ) was up 2.91% or 0.52 points to end trade at 18.38.
The worst performers of the session were Bombardier (TSX: ), which lost 18.21% or 4.89 points to trade at 21.97. NexGen Energy Ltd. (TSX: ) was down 9.32% or 0.51 points to end at 4.96 and Birchcliff Energy Ltd. (TSX: ) was down 8.65% or 1.01 points to 10.66 at the close.
On the Toronto Stock Exchange, 734 stocks fell, outnumbering gainers by 333, while 73 stocks were unchanged.
Shares in Bombardier Inc (TSX: ) fell to one-year lows; losing 18.21% or 4.89 to 21.97.
The measure of implied volatility for options on Canada’s Toronto S&P/TSX composite index fell 5.60% to 21.24.
Gold futures August options contract prices fell 1.22% or 22.30 to $1,809.50. As for the rest of the futures, the July delivery WTI crude oil futures contract fell 1.99% (2.41 points) to $118.52, while the August London Brent crude oil futures contract fell 1.27% (1.55) to trade at $120.72.
CAD/USD remained unchanged by 0.44% at 0.77, while CAD/EUR was basically flat by 0.48% at 0.74.
U.S. dollar index futures were up 0.32% at 105.30.
