The record increases in petrol and diesel prices were not enough. For motorists, another substantial increase is coming, that of the cost of the car overhaul. The umpteenth sting is expected from next November 1st when the basic cost of the “testing” will increase from 45 euros to 54.90 euros, with a + 22% increase in the rate. As explained by the president of Codacons, Carlo Rienzi, this increase is the effect of an inter-ministerial decree signed by the Ministry of Infrastructures and the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
“Once again, Italian motorists are used as ATMs by the Government, through an increase in taxes on cars, and instead of reducing taxation to alleviate the effects of expensive gasoline, it was decided to increase the rate by 22% of the car review ”, concludes Rienzi.
