Career orientation, the event for students kicks off in Turin

TURIN. The Turin tour for work orientation begins. This is an open air event, open to all, held today, Thursday 18 April, in front of the Olimpia residence, Viale Ottavio Mai, in Turin. The orientation services will also be accompanied by art and entertainment with interventions by the comedian and influencer Davide D’Urso, the comedian Massimiliano Pedone and the live session organized by Martina Ravetta and Euphonia. The initiative is conceived by Edisu Piemonte, the Order of Labor Consultants of Turin and the Foundation of Labor Consultants together for the work of younger people. The collaboration will make it possible to offer university students consultancy and services to help them navigate the transition to the world of work.
At the center, the truck of the national tour of the Labor Consultants Foundation “Work travels with us” professionals specialized in orientation will be available to provide useful advice, helping to acquire awareness of one’s aspirations and skills.
“Our objective is clear: to guide our young people towards an ethical and safe professional future, enhancing every single talent” explains Fabrizio Bontempo, President of the Order of Labor Consultants of Turin. It is a commitment that the Order of Labor Consultants pursues in every way with multiple initiatives and with the “Generazione Legalità” project (www.genl.eu), which is proposed in numerous high schools, spreading the importance of safety at work and legality.
For Massimiliano Fico, Councilor of the Work Consultants Foundation, “Turin is just one of the stages that the truck has touched and will touch in Italy, a unique event of its kind”.
For the president of Edisu Piemonte Alessandro Ciro Sciretti “The collaboration with the Order and the Foundation of Labor Consultants represents an important opportunity to offer university students moments of consultancy and support to bring them closer to the world of work and to help them choose a career path that is in line with their personal inclinations and ambitions. We are pleased to host the Piedmontese stage of the national tour “Work travels with us” in front of our Olimpia residence and we hope that in the future more days like this can be held, with a view to a model of the right to study that not only offers economic support and services, but which is increasingly a tool to guide young people in their life paths”.
The regional councilor for Labor Elena Chiorino observed how orientation is the basis of active labor policies, a fundamental link between the course of study and the world of work itself. In Piedmont, the investment in orientation services has been doubled, going from 6.5 million euros allocated in the three-year period 2019-2022 to 12 million for the three-year period 2023-2026, with 266,000 people involved: work is underway to further expand this audience and strengthen such an important strategic axis even further. In a world that increasingly requires adequate skills to face employment challenges, we need to respond with a long-term vision: that of training combined with orientation. (Sr)
