With immediate effect, after taxpayers have opened a “digital renminbi” wallet, they can choose any of the four methods of provincial electronic taxation bureau, mobile banking APP or online banking, taxation hall, bank counter, and use digital renminbi to pay taxes and fees. The entire process of payment to the national treasury and reconciliation is carried out through digital renminbi.

The digital renminbi is a digital legal currency issued by the People’s Bank of China, which has the characteristics of “payment as settlement”, convenience and safety. At the end of November last year, Changsha was approved as the second batch of digital RMB pilot cities across the country. In June of this year, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government issued the “Implementation Plan for Further Deepening the Reform of Tax Collection and Administration”, clarifying that “combined with the pilot work of digital renminbi in Changsha City, explore the application of digital renminbi in tax payment and medical insurance and social insurance payments by the end of 2021.” The task of reform.
