According to reports, on October 1, a new energy vehicle owner returning from Shenzhen to Hunan took more than 5 hours to charge the car in the Leiyang service area.
“At that time, I checked the navigation and there was no traffic jam. I decided to go home temporarily. I walked smoothly along the way. When I arrived at the Leiyang service area, I had to recharge it. As a result, I arrived at the charging station. There were a lot of cars. Line up there.” The owner of the new energy vehicle said.
Many new energy car owners complained: “I’m afraid that I can’t find the charging pile and the traffic jam, so I don’t dare to turn on the air conditioner on the road.”

On October 3, State Grid e-charge charged 15,668 electric vehicles in Hunan province in total, of whichhighwayCharging increased by 96% year-on-year, and some charging stations appeared to be queuing for charging. In order to alleviate the problem of “difficult charging” during the November holiday, the State Grid Hunan Electric Vehicle Company conducted drainage of charging stations in 18 service areas in the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao-Hunan section.
According to statistics from the State Grid, from October 1 to 3, the total charging capacity of the State Grid’s charging and swapping service network increased by 59% year-on-year, of whichhighwayThe charging capacity of charging facilities increased by 56.52% year-on-year, and the daily charging capacity of urban charging facilities increased by 75.23% year-on-year. State Grid said that the main reason for the new high charging capacity is the rapid increase in the number of domestic new energy vehicles. The data shows that as of the end of September, there were 6.78 million new energy vehicles in the country, and 1.87 million new energy vehicles have been registered this year.
The number of new energy vehicles is growing rapidly, and the cruising range is also increasing. According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the average cruising range of pure electric passenger vehicles has increased from 253 kilometers in 2016 to 378 kilometers in 2020. At present, many new energy vehicles have a cruising range of more than 500 kilometers.
Fu Bingfeng, executive vice president and secretary-general of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, said: “As the penetration rate of new energy vehicles continues to increase, the layout of charging and swapping infrastructure has expanded significantly, and the intelligentization of charging facilities has continued to advance.”
On September 26, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Transport Sun Wenjian stated at a press conference that as of September, the “endurance project” of green travel had added 439 charging piles in the expressway service area, and the number of charging piles reached 10,836. There are 95 service areas for charging piles and 2,318 service areas for charging piles. Highways and water and land passenger transport hubs are also accelerating the construction of charging piles.
In May 2021, the National Development and Reform Commission issued the “Implementation Opinions on Further Improving the Service Guarantee Capability of Charging and Replacing Infrastructure (Draft for Solicitation of Comments)”. The draft for comments proposes to speed up the effective coverage of expressway fast charging networks, and strive to achieve no less than 80% coverage of fast charging stations in expressway service areas in the National Ecological Civilization Pilot Area and Key Areas for Air Pollution Prevention and Control by 2025, and no less in other areas. Less than 60%.
The latest data released by the China Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance shows that as of August this year, the total number of charging infrastructures nationwide has reached 2.105 million, an increase of 52.3% year-on-year. From January to August, the increase in charging infrastructure was 424,000, and the increase in public charging infrastructure increased by 322.3% year-on-year. It is estimated that by 2025, the domestic sales of new energy vehicles will reach 8.7 million, and the number of new energy vehicles will reach 32.32 million. With a vehicle-to-stake ratio of 2.4, it is estimated that the number of public (including dedicated) and private piles will reach 7.137 million respectively. And 6.329 million, the annual increase is about 2.224 million and 1.794 million, and the total investment scale will reach 40 billion yuan. By 2030, the scale of the charging pile market is expected to increase by 30 times.
