Cinema, Anica expands to “Digital Publishers and Creators”

by admin

The news of the world of digital communication, and the companies that invest in this aspect of communication, have a new home in Anica. In fact, the “Digital Publishers and Creators” union was born, chaired by Manuela Cacciamani, within the most representative association of the cinema and audiovisual industry. To do the honors is the president Anica, Francesco Rutelli: «Anica is changing a lot, and significantly, it is transforming. Its three historical unions are that of producers, that of theater managers and that of technicians. For some months we have decided to expand our constitution towards the news of the audiovisual world ».

New aggregations aggregations, therefore, for an Anica which, Rutelli points out, is «as a platform for the entire supply chain. Anica has always interpreted change, every change of historical, productive and creative cycle has seen Anica transform, in its almost 80 years of history ». The audiovisual world is changing rapidly, virtual reality and augmented reality are coming into play more and more, gaming is carving out an increasingly relevant space and the most famous youtubers often have more viewers than a film. “These 24 companies are a hope for us, as well as a robust reality”, concludes Rutelli, underlining that among the promoters there is the Turin Cinema Museum, “which is no longer just a museum, but is now very much oriented towards virtual reality and storytelling ».

This new union, underlines President Cacciamani for her part, “is truly a revolution. Anica is an institution and being hosted in such a solid house is really important to us. We can put together our skills, more related to contemporary audiovisual. We already have 24 associates, companies located throughout Italy. A great team of professionals who can enrich the cinema market, and also we have the possibility to give young people new, fresh jobs. Companies deal with virtual reality, augmented reality, we also have the MIT in Milan with us, in addition to the Turin Cinema Museum. Our projects are often transversal and need many different skills. On November 5th, in a meeting in Rome, at Cinecittà Labs at 4 pm, the companies will show their work and start sharing experiences ».

Among the companies that were the first to join this new project was Rai Cinema, as underlined by one of the two vice-presidents of the union, Carlo Rodomonti: “For Rai Cinema, being here is important, a company cannot move alone in a world so complex. Business models are constantly changing, it is necessary to create a system. Rai Cinema has always had a culture of support for productions, and involving such different companies is a great opportunity for growth ».

«This is a historic day – concludes the vice president Vincenzo Piscopo – for those like us who deal with the production of digital content. For more than 15 years, those who produce digital storytelling have not had a reference association. The trend has been so many islands, in their own right, with excellences which, however, often fail to represent themselves adequately on the market. This requires all of us to restructure the way we are together. The potential is very high but unity is needed. Anica really seems to me the best place where this union could be born ».
