The European Court of Justice (ECJ) in Luxembourg ruled on Thursday (9.30 a.m.) on regulations to protect tour operators during the corona pandemic.

The European Court of Justice (ECJ) in Luxembourg ruled on Thursday (9.30 a.m.) on regulations to protect tour operators during the corona pandemic. In France, tour operators could initially offer a voucher when a contract was terminated and only had to reimburse the travel price if it was not redeemed within an 18-month period. French consumer advocates consider this incompatible with the EU Package Travel Directive. (Az: C-407/21 UFC)

In another case, package travelers in Slovakia had to accept a contract that had been changed due to the pandemic or an offered replacement trip. The EU Commission saw this as a violation of EU law. (Az: C-540/21)
