The destinations of Italian workers abroad

The favorite destination of Italians for work abroad is Switzerland, which in two years has risen four positions and overtakes the United Kingdom (from first to second) and Germany (stopping in third place). Not only that, Switzerland is also at the top of the ranking of destinations that Italians would consider for remote work, ahead of the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom and France.

Who comes to work in Italy

Italy is also a popular destination for foreigners to work, especially Albanians, Spaniards, Romanians and Turks. But also by the Swiss.

Canada at the top of the world ranking

On the global average, on the other hand, the United States is no longer in first place among the preferred destinations by workers, down one position, on a par with Australia (20%), due to the difficult management of Covid and the unfavorable measures taken from the last government administration.
The record goes to Canada, top recipient for 24% of respondents, which benefits from a good management of the pandemic and more favorable conditions, according to the BCG analysis.

As preferred country for a remote job assignment, however, the first place is the United States, with 25% of the preferences, followed by Australia and Canada (22%) and in fourth place is Germany (19%) .

London remains the most sought-after city

Among the most attractive cities globally, London maintains the first position. Brexit or no Brexit, the appeal of the British capital seems to remain attractive despite the uncertainties of recent years.
Immediately after is Amsterdam, which gains three places from 2008 to 2020.
In third place Dubai, which together with Abu Dhabi (in fifth) symbolizes the changes taking place in the global geography of work.
