The city of New York will reopen 100% starting next July 1st. This is what Mayor Bill de Blasio announced in an interview with MSNBC.

“Our plan is to reopen completely on 1 July – said de Blasio – We are ready to have companies, offices and cinemas reopen to full capacity”.

New York will fully reopen for the first time in more than a year, after being hit like the rest of the world by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Restaurants, gyms, shops, hairdressers and stadiums will be fully operational again. Smaller cinemas could reopen during the summer, while Broadway should be fully active by September.

Schools will return to “full capacity” operation in the fall.

“What we are seeing is a number of vaccinations at an extraordinary rate,” said de Blasio.

It should be noted that the city of New York has distributed more than 6 million doses of the anti-Covid 19 vaccines: approximately 36% of the New York adult population has received both doses, according to data released by the city itself. More than half of the adult population has received at least one dose.

“This will be the summer in New York – said the mayor – I believe that people will flock to New York City, because they will want to live again”.
