It will be the vaccination campaign, it will be the desire to return to normal, it will be the approach of summer, the fact is that Italians are returning to want to spend, especially for holidays. This is what was found by the Findomestic Monthly Observatory in May which shows how the purchase intentions of our compatriots are constantly growing until reaching + 11% in May. An increase to be attributed also to the approach of the holidays: “Almost a quarter (24%) of the interviewees have already planned the holidays and 59% observe the evolution of the situation waiting to dispel the last doubts before setting a trip and indulging a few days of rest away from their own city ”underline the Observatory.
Used motorcycles and vehicles
The propensity to purchase both motor vehicles and e-bikes is also growing (+ 21.4%). And also in this case the summer has an important specific weight in the positive trend of “open” vehicles, but the highest peak was reached by used cars: + 23.9%.
Growing houses
“Never as in the last year has the house turned out to be a place of such great importance and the Italians, despite the restart at the gates, want to invest to improve it” reveal from the Findomestic Observatory. This is not about the summer season, but the government bonuses and the desire for a more comfortable home environment: the intention to buy new houses or apartments is up by + 3.8% at the end of April while favoring renovations: + 2.3%. The propensity to purchase furniture touches a double-digit increase: + 9%.
Smart working encourages technological purchase
The propensity to purchase PCs and accessories (6.4%), tablets and e-books (11.6%) and telephony (17.1%) also has a very specific cause. The reason is, needless to say, smart working and distance learning which continue to be a constant in the lives of Italians. “The technological equipment that allowed us to work and study even from home during an emergency have become a central element in the life of the consumer who aims to complete the digital home equipment and keep it updated”.
