DAZN is in advanced negotiations for the purchase of BT’s sports activities. The Financial Times reports today, noting how an agreement could be reached within a few weeks. The price to take over BT Sport could be in the hundreds of millions of pounds. BT shares are up around 3.5 per cent in London.
The UK financial newspaper notes how the deal would allow BT to get out of the sports business, while Dazn would get its hands on the coveted Premier League, as well as other top UK sports such as rugby and cricket.
Last week Kevin Mayer, president of DAZN, showed some interest in acquiring BT Sport, described as a “great deal”.
