It was the process that illuminated the turn of the century and it is too early to say goodbye. The globalization in fact, the phenomenon that still most differentiates the world economy from the reality of forty years ago remains: never has the world been so connected and intertwined, on a world level, even in people’s lives. But the long wave of the pandemic is tarnishing and undermining a myth already tarnished by the political repercussions of the costs that globalization has entailed for significant slices of society and voters, especially in the West.
