The Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) has made a significant investment in promoting Puerto Rico on the popular American television program “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”. With a whopping $440,000 investment, the DMO collaborated with Discover Puerto Rico and the production team of the show to highlight the fact that Americans do not need a passport to visit the island.

During a recent episode of the show, actor Guillermo Rodríguez embarked on a comedic journey from Los Angeles to Puerto Rico after letting his passport expire. The segment featured Rodríguez enjoying a stay at the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel, exploring El Yunque National Forest, visiting the Luquillo Kiosks, and partying at the famous La Factoría bar in Old San Juan.

Brad Dean, the CEO of Discover Puerto Rico, emphasized the importance of showcasing the island’s culture and warmth to new audiences through innovative means. He expressed excitement about welcoming “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” fans to Puerto Rico, providing them with a true Puerto Rican experience.

The DMO confirmed that the investment for this initiative came from the American Rescue Plan (ARPA) and highlighted the wide reach of the program, which attracts over a million viewers each night and covers more than 210 US cities or markets. The organization also revealed that the return on investment from the promotional integration in the television production is still being calculated, with preliminary estimates suggesting an advertising impact of between $500,000 and one million dollars.

Carlos Irizarry, the general manager of La Factoría, expressed his pride in welcoming Guillermo and the team from “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to Puerto Rico, showcasing the unique charm of the island. Discover Puerto Rico continues to carry out various initiatives to promote Puerto Rico domestically and internationally, including investing in bringing content creators and influencers to the island.
