Prime Minister Mario Draghi welcomes French President Emmanuel Macron to Palazzo Chigi, under pouring rain, for a bilateral meeting in view of the signing of the Quirinal Treaty tomorrow. The two leaders will first see each other face to face, then the meeting will expand to ministers and delegations. Macron is accompanied to Rome by the foreign ministers, Jean-Yves Le Drian, of the Economy Brune Le Maire, of the Defense Florence Parly, of the Interior Gérald Darmanin and by the Secretary of State for European Affairs Clément Beaune.
Precisely because of the pouring rain, Draghi received Macron under the portico of Palazzo Chigi, and not in the courtyard as usual, from where they listened to the two national anthems, before going up to the Galleons room for another handshake in favor of cameras.
