ECB: The interest rate hike is a decision for the citizens – and against the banks

FIt was a nightmare decision for Christine Lagarde: Caught between the bank tremors and the fight against inflation, the President of the European Central Bank (ECB) had to choose which goal to give priority in the short term – and whose needs should have priority: those of the commercial banks or those of the citizens .

Lagarde has opted for the latter.
