EFSA rejects E171, a dye used in many foods: “It’s not safe”

Titanium dioxide is not safe for our health when used as a food additive. The news is important because, even if the name of the substance can say little (on the list of ingredients it is often indicated with the “code name” E171) this dye is present in many products we buy every day, including those for children.
