by admin

Moto Guzzi chooses Eicma to present its future to the general public. Scheduled from Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 November, the international two-wheel exhibition will be the stage for the world premiere debut of the new Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello. The second novelty comes from the Moto Guzzi V85 TT, created to celebrate 75 years of collaboration between the Mandello company and the Corazzieri regiment. The arrival of the new V100 marks a turning point for the Mandello brand, starting with the birth of the new production plant.

Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello, Eicma 2021

World premiere debut at Eicma 2021 for the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello, the first motorcycle in the world with adaptive aerodynamics arrives; the first Moto Guzzi equipped with semi-active suspension, inertial platform, cornering abs and quick shift and, as expected, liquid-cooled. Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello will truly be a turning point in the history of the brand, a project in which many important technological innovations will make their debut: it will be the first motorcycle with adaptive aerodynamics, the first Moto Guzzi equipped with advanced electronic solutions such as the six-axis inertial platform, cornering Abs, semi-active suspensions and quick shift, just to name the most important. And it will be the first Moto Guzzi powered by the new “compact block” engine, with refined technical characteristics. Tradition is respected by the 90 ° transverse V architecture of the twin cylinder, which guarantees that unique way of delivering torque and that inimitable Moto Guzzi sound, but the project is totally new. The new design has resulted in an extremely compact and lightweight engine, 103 mm shorter than the small block of the V85 TT. The new twin stands out from all the recent engines built in Mandello del Lario for the heads rotated by 90 degrees, a choice that makes it possible to increase the habitability on board and rationalize the position of the components of the intake line and electronic injection. The actual displacement is 1042 cc; the distribution is double overhead camshaft with finger rocker arms and four valves per cylinder, controlled by chain. Wet sump lubrication, liquid cooling, while the oil bath clutch is equipped with a hydraulic control. Performance is decidedly brilliant, thanks to a power of over 115 horsepower and a torque of over 105 Nm, with 90% already available from 3500 rpm and the limiter set at 9500 rpm. These figures show the character and strength of the new engine well, gritty with great thrust right from low revs, capable of offering a driving experience that is worthy of the Moto Guzzi coat of arms. The final drive with cardan shaft uses an aluminum single-sided arm with a very long development and now positioned on the left. The driveshaft output, located much lower than previous Moto Guzzi engines, eliminated the reactions on the suspension due to torque transfer at the source, without the need to use reaction rods on the swingarm, making the ride smooth both in acceleration and in release as in the presence of a final chain drive, but with the typical advantages of the cardan such as less maintenance and greater cleaning. Another strong point comes from the tubular steel frame, which boasts a wheelbase of 1486 mm, ideal for enhancing agility.

Moto Guzzi V85 TT Honor Guard

Debut at Eicma 2021 also for the Moto Guzzi V85 TT Guardia d’Onore, a special limited and numbered edition, which in the year of Moto Guzzi’s centenary became part of the Corazzieri Regiment’s motorcycle fleet. In fact, there are two Moto Guzzi V85 TTs that on 20 May 2021, with a presentation ceremony to the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, were added to the California 1400 Touring already supplied to the Corazzieri. Just like the V85 TT delivered to the Head of State at the Quirinale Palace, the V85 TT Guardia d’Onore is characterized by the typical black livery with white graphics that distinguishes the Corazzieri Moto Guzzi. The white friezes run along the front fender and then continue on the tank and on the side panels and are also reflected on the oversized Touring windshield. The latter is part of the standard equipment, as well as the central stand, the engine guard bars and the additional LED spotlights. A pair of side panniers dedicated to this model is available on request.

The Moto Guzzi V85 TT Guardia d’Onore will be produced in a limited series of 1946, a number that evokes the first of the 75 years of union between the Mandello Eagle and the Corazzieri Regiment and is also a tribute to the anniversary of the birth of the Republic Italian. Further evidence of this particular version, the serial number of the model, from 1 to 1946, is engraved on the handlebar riser. Each buyer of this special version of the V85 TT will also be given a precious celebratory box, including a brochure describing the models. Moto Guzzi used by the Corazzieri and the collector’s philatelic folder containing the philatelic cancellation of the stamp issued on the occasion of the Moto Guzzi centenary.
