Eni met with national and local trade unions yesterday to illustrate the development and strengthening strategy that Versalis is pursuing in line with the path of energy transition and complete abatement of emissions from industrial processes and products.
In the note from ENI, he notes that Versalis will carry out its transformation by leveraging its skills, research centers and the assets of its production system to continue developing innovative technologies and important industrial initiatives aimed at specializing and diversifying the chemical portfolio. This will be done by focusing on a broader portfolio of products that allow a growing participation in markets with higher profitability.
The development of chemistry linked to the circular economy will also be accelerated by focusing on high quality mechanical recycling products, technologies for the chemical recycling of mixed plastics and the use of raw materials from renewable sources.
Each project, specified Versalis, will be carried out in compliance with the employment balance and the connected production chains. In particular, in Porto Marghera, sustainable industrial initiatives will be implemented as part of a broader Eni plan for the energy transition in the area. The timing of implementation will be subject to constant discussion with the social partners.
