Electric, digital, super connected and with a record autonomy. The Mercedes Eqs debuts, the new zero-emission flagship that aims to redefine the top luxury car segment in a 360-degree sustainability key. And, of course, challenge that Tesla Model S that stole many customers from the S-Class thermal, the mother of all flagships of the three-pointed Star. But Porsche Taycan is also in the sights. One thing must be said immediately: the EQS is not the electric version of the S-Class. natively electric. It is, in fact, based on a new modular platform called Eva (which would stand for Electric vehicle architecture, but it is also the name of the engineer Eva Greiner who conceived it). EQS brings this architecture to its debut as the mother of 4 high-end electric futures (the EQE, for example) signed by the Stuttgart company.

The engineers started with a blank sheet of paper to create a car that was a breaking point with the past. and this can be seen immediately in the interior.

EQS offers, in fact, the MbUx Hyperscreen system, the all-display mega-scale, which was exhibited for the first time in January at Ces, the hitech show in Las Vegas. It must be said that this is an optional (which also promises to be quite expensive since unofficial sources speak of about 15 thousand euros), however it is also possible that the hypescreen can be offered as standard in some markets since it seems to be a very wow and characteristic of the model.

More than an infotainment system, the new MbUx is the true digital brain of the car: it controls everything, has a processor with 8 cores, 24 GB of Ram and boasts software based on artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques that make it capable of learning. to adapt to user needs.

But let’s get to the EQS which, according to Mercedes, is the most aerodynamic car ever produced. The goal of the Stuttgart technicians was in fact to seek autonomy at the highest levels.
