Ex Ilva: the TAR welcomes the appeal of Acciaierie d’Italia on the conveyor belts

by admin

The Lazio TAR accepted both the introductory appeal and the subsequent two appeals for additional reasons presented by Acciaierie d’Italia, the former Ilva, against the decrees published by the Ministry of Ecological Transition (Mite) in recent months regarding completion times of the prescription to close the conveyor belts and towers of the Taranto plant. This was announced by the company in a note. Il Mite, he recalls, had only partially accepted the requests to adjust the timing of implementation of the company’s prescription, despite the fact that the preliminary investigation services conferences of 27 November 2020 and decision-making of 16 December 2020 had instead deemed the timing proposed by Acciaierie d ‘Italy, correctly taking into account the inevitable slowdowns in activities due to the Covid19 pandemic. The interventions subject to the prescription have in the meantime been concluded by the Company by 31 July 2021, in full compliance with the technical timelines also considered appropriate by the Lazio TAR.
