ROME. The Guarantor for the protection of personal data has asked the Irish Authority to solicit Facebook to answer a series of questions about smart glasses equipped with the “Facebook View” function, before the glasses are marketed on the Italian market.
This was announced by a press release from the same Authority, which had already taken action in recent days with its Irish counterpart: the guarantor poses a series of issues that supplement those already subject to comparisons between the DPC and social media. In particular, it intends to assess compliance with the privacy regulations: the Authority asks to know the legal basis on which Facebook processes personal data, the measures put in place to protect the people occasionally shot, and in particular minors. He also wants to know any systems adopted to make anonymous the data collected and the characteristics of the voice assistant connected to the glasses.
