An agreement has been signed for two projects under development in Sicily in the provinces of Ragusa and Trapani

MILAN – Falck Renewables and Ferrero sign a PPA, or an energy purchase contract, for 10 years with the Ferrero food group. The contract concerns two projects owned by Falck Renewables that integrate photovoltaics and agriculture by combining investments in the two fields, under development in Sicily in the provinces of Ragusa and Trapani.

It is estimated that, once in operation, the plants (17.5 MW in total) will produce up to 35 GWh of electricity per year, equivalent to the amount of energy needed to cover the needs of about 13,000 households. Following the decommissioning of solar plants, a note specifies, 100% of the areas they occupy will be dedicated to agriculture again.
