Fed, Powell: ‘we agree to raise rates in March, not excluding a squeeze in every FOMC meeting’

Jerome Powell, head of the Federal Reserve, does not rule out that rates can be raised at any meeting of the FOMC, the monetary policy arm of the US central bank. This is what he himself said in the press conference following the announcement on rates, which were left stuck in the range between zero and 0.25%, but close to being raised.

“I have a strong feeling that we will be able to raise rates without jeopardizing employment – said Powell – There is a lot of room to raise rates without causing damage to the labor market”.

“We agree to raise rates in March,” the Fed chief pointed out.
