An extraordinary 2021 has been filed, moving forward with the electrification of the range and new partnerships “to drive innovation”. While the Formula 1 championship “has started in an exciting way”, even if the road is long and “we need to stay focused on the season”. These are the most important messages contained in Chairman John Elkann’s opening speech at the Ferrari shareholders’ meeting. «2021 – says Elkann – was an extraordinary year for Ferrari. Excellent financial results, the strengthening of the best product range in our history, the entry of the brand into new territories and the strongest order book ever are just some of the most important aspects. In terms of products, we have launched 4 new models including the 296 Gtb, a Phev (plug-in hybrid) model with a new V6 engine coupled to an electric motor. A car that marks a step forward in our path of electrification ».
The president of the Rossa is betting many on alliances, even in sectors contiguous to the automotive sector. «In driving innovation – he explains – we believe in the ability of partnerships to overcome borders and seize opportunities together. An example is our collaboration with LoveFrom, a creative collective led by Jony Ive and Marc Newson, whose world-famous creativity is shared with ours in a complementary way to create even more distinctive and unique products ».
The CEO of the Maranello company, Benedetto Vigna, recalls the 4.3 billion euros of revenues in 2021, which allowed Ferrari to exceed the threshold of 4 billion euros for the first time in history. Secondly, the more than 11,000 cars delivered, with significant growth in all regions: in China, in particular, deliveries have doubled year after year.
“In 2022 – says Vigna – we will continue to launch our ambitious and exciting product plan and will unveil 2 other new models in the coming months, one of which is the highly anticipated Purosangue, which, I am confident, will exceed our customers’ expectations”. 2022 is a very important year for Ferrari: it celebrates its 75th anniversary since the opening of the Maranello factory and lays the foundation for future challenges, starting with Capital Markets Day on June 16 in Maranello.
